Learner/Volunteer of the Year

The Tennessee Association for Adult and Community Education is proud to annually sponsor awards for an Adult Learner of the Year and for a Volunteer of the Year.

To be eligible for the Adult Learner of the Year, the nominee must be an adult with significant adult responsibilities relating to employment and/or family and who have been enrolled in an adult program in the last twelve months. The nominee should have overcome difficult circumstances in order to pursue adult learning. He/she should have an improved lifestyle, have shown leadership abilities, been supportive of others engaged in adult learning, and should have maintained family and employment responsibilities while pursuing educational goals.

To be eligible for the Volunteer of the Year, the nominee must be a volunteer who has made significant contributions to the sponsoring organization within the last twelve months. Nominees should have demonstrated success in several ways. They must have made a significant contribution to the Adult Education Program, have approved the life situation of others as a result of volunteering, demonstrated leadership, maintained family and employment responsibilities and have demonstrated innovative approaches in meeting educational needs of adults.
